I do not think that the American government should take away civil liberties in times of war. Forcing Americans to do things like enlist in the army during wartime takes away certain rights that United States citizens pride themselves in having. If you force Americans to join the war, or take away other civil liberties, you defeat the purpose of being a free country.

  2. I agree, Erin; however, where do you stand on the government enforcing loyalty? Do you believe that the government should have to enforce loyalty on such areas as trade and communication with other countries? Because, if the government does not enforce loyalty, this means that business men, maybe even those who make and sell weapons, could be trading with Germany and Germany would be benefitting from out citizens which could hurt us during the war. -David Aranjo

  3. i also agree with erin. By taking away freedoms the country will only lose supporters and the strong sense of patriotism will be gone.
